Our Story
What started as an idea in a class project in 2018 has turned into the ministry of The Bridge today.
After a pilot program in 2019, our family moved from Kansas State University to Kansas City in the summer of 2020 to focus full-time on this mission: To provide fellowship and training to encourage and equip recent graduates to represent Jesus where they live, work, and play.
Since then, we have seen God develop young men and women as both gospel witnesses in the working world and active members in their churches. Students, graduates, campus ministries, and pastors have all benefitted.
Three years later, as numbers have grown, so did our need for a broader team. So, in the summer of 2023, we launched The Bridge as its own organization.
Our core desire is to specialize in ministry with recent graduates, to cooperate with college ministries, and to strengthen local churches. We do all this to help grads bridge the gap from campus to community.
Our Vision
The Bridge spans the gap between collegiate ministry involvement and mature church membership.
We envision a two-year development opportunity for recent college graduates that helps these young believers to make the transition from the campus to the working world. We will do this by creating a community of members who are dedicated to growing together as spiritual leaders while working and ministering as young professionals.
For now, this work exists in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As we staff a team and train leaders, I can see the work reproduced in other metropolitan areas that receive a concentration of graduates, who are young believers, entering the working world.
